The Frolic 31 takes what the Edwardians knew about elegance in line and proportion and blends this with modern thinking on construction and propulsion. The long, stable hull, with an elegant counter and plumb stem, is built from maintenance-friendly GRP and can be fitted with a range of interior and power options to give a vessel that is truly a modern classic.
Whether electric, diesel or steam powered, the Frolic 31 carries with it an air of splendour that is at home gracing royal regattas or family excursions on any river or lake.
The design, by renowned British designer Andrew Wolstenholme, was created in the 1980s and has become established as one of the most dependable craft of its type.
Available in a number of standard layouts, the Frolic’s craftsman builders can tailor any of these to suit requirements. All workmanship, fittings and materials are of the highest quality, combining exotic hardwoods, chrome, brass or gunmetal fittings and modern finishes.
Depending on layout, the Frolic can seat up to 12 people, or provide cosy living space for a family. Protection can be offered by way of canvas roof covering, hand-built, hardwood cabin or any desired combination.
Though each Frolic 31 is constructed to order and can be entirely tailored to suit individual requirements, four standard layouts are also available.
The Open Launch is ideal as a taxi or hotel launch, offering maximum seating capacity, while the Open Classic offers more in the way of luxurious feel having hardwood timber thoroughout and a canvas roof.
The Picnic version incorporates a small, hardwood-built cabin to the rear of the hull, while the Classic takes the Edwardian style to the fullest extent having a full dayboat cabin with mahogany decks and hull cladding. The cabin can include a galley with sink, fridge and stove, as well as a wash room.
All woodwork and hull finishing is performed by hand by our highly experienced craftsmen.
